About the Project

I began my travels to Europe in 2003 when I visited Juno Beach, the spot where my uncle landed with the Canadian Scottish Regiment on D-Day. Since then I have been to France, the Netherlands, and Italy several times, only missing one year to date.

I began placing pictures at grave sites in 2006 and started actively working on WWII research in 2008. My project to place faces to the names of fallen Canadian soldiers took off in 2009 when I started searching for pictures of our soldiers buried in the Villanova cemetery in Italy, as well as in various cemeteries in the Netherlands. I am determined to find a picture and a story for all the soldiers that I can so that there is always a face to the name of soldiers resting far from home.
